Our History

Spetisbury Construction was established in 1984 and has obtained over 40 years experience in refurbishments and new builds in a diverse variety of contexts.

1984

Founding

On 7th June Spetisbury Construction was formed and operated from small premises in Salisbury Street, Blandford before moving to commercial premises in Sturminster Marshall in October 1986.

First year of business

The company produced their first accounts showing a turnover of £200k

1988

Growth & Relocation

Growth in the company meant new premises were needed and relocated on Bailie Gate Industrial Estate.

Bournemouth Hotel Refubishment Project

The company completed one of its biggest projects to date in refurbishing large parts of Bournemouth Hotel.

2006

2nd Relocation

Spetisbury move again, this time to the beautiful “Leigh House” in Wimborne.

Sandbanks Construction Project

The company commences biggest project to date constructing 9 luxury properties and boat yard development on Sandbanks.

Chartered Building Company

Spetisbury Construction becomes a “Chartered Building Company” affiliated to The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB)

Building Safety Group Award

Spetisbury Construction is recognised for its outstanding work by winning an award from the Building Safety Group (BSG).

Covid-19

Spetisbury Construction successfully negotiates the challenges of Covid-19 and return to a strong order book with key clients.

Department Store Construction

Work commences on significant town centre department store.

Dorset Council & National Trust

Significant projects secured with Dorset Council and National Trust.

40th Anniversary

40th Anniversary celebrations at the Captains Club in Christchurch with employees and their families. A special cake was made of Leigh House.
